On July 23, 2011 over 40 riders departed for a 220 km ride in honour of Randy Wilkin. Wilkin was very active in the Elmira community, and served as team director and treasurer of the Sugar Kings, plus helped out with equipment, drove the team bus on occasion, and assisted at fundraisers. He was also involved with organizing the Ride with the Kings fundraising event. To honour Wilkin, a hockey fan and community-minded person, the ride organizes felt it was very important to include his passions in last weekend’s fundraising event. As a result, they decided to donate the ride's proceeds to FOH, in support of children in need of assistance to play hockey.
